When Simeon introduced me to Emily at a Doctor Who signing in 2022, I knew this wedding would be something special. “She’s agreed to help us out today,” he said with a grin. That moment said it all – Emily understood the joyful chaos that comes with loving Simeon. And I was lucky enough to capture every bit of it, from Southampton to Barford Park Barn.
The day began with a heartfelt ceremony at Simeon’s home church in Southampton. Faith and fellowship were at the heart of it all. Their church communities mean the world to them, and that love was woven into every part of the service. When Emily appeared in her stunning dress from Cherished Bridal Wear, Sim’s emotional reaction had me welling up behind the lens.
After tea and cake with the congregation, I made my way to the reception at Barford Park Barn – a beautifully restored 17th-century barn overlooking Downton church and the River Avon. With hand-sewn bunting, rustic charm, and a TARDIS (yes, really), it was a perfect blend of tradition and geeky flair.
Despite the low light, my trusty prime lenses worked their magic. Every speech, every laugh, every lovingly prepared dish by Man With A Pan was captured in full colour and warmth.
Emily and Sim were a dream to work with – organised, joyful, and full of heart. Their best man, Tom, kept everything running like clockwork. Honestly, I’d hire him for every wedding if I could.
The night ended with a ceilidh from the Southampton University Folk Society. Laughter, dancing, and love filled the barn – and I drove home singing all the way back to London.
If you’re planning a wedding at Barford Park Barn (or anywhere geeky and glorious), I’d love to be part of it. You can drop me a line here.
